Our History
From a young age I, Shane Nolan, started working in construction back in Ireland. In 2010 I moved to New Zealand where I initially trained as a house replier specialising in the repiling, re-levelling and repairs of heritage villas and homes.
Rebuilding Christchurch
After the severe earthquake in Christchurch we moved down south to help with the rebuild. The experience in foundation solutions gained during that period is invaluable.
Following assisting with the design and development of mechanical systems used to re-level and support ring foundation and slab-on-grade homes, I was contracted out to other companies to train their staff. Over the course of my time in Christchurch I was responsible for the re-levelling, stabilisation and repair of over 150 homes with concrete foundations.
Back in Auckland
After almost four years in the South Island, I decided it was time to come back to Auckland. I joined the original company I had started out with in 2010 again and furthered my training in foundation repairs, learning how to repair ring foundations that have been damaged due to concrete spalling and how to safely remove and replace foundations that can no longer be repaired. Minimising the damage that may occur inside the home while this work is being carried out is something that can only be achieved after years of experience in the industry.
In 2018 I started contracting to Mike Field, the owner of the foundation company I had been working for. I completed 98% of his work as his main contractor until March 2022 when him and his wife Toni Field decided to retire from the industry.
And so began Finesse Foundation Solutions Ltd
Now with all my years of knowledge and experience specialising in foundation re-levelling and repairs, I start an exciting chapter in my foundation career with my own company.
